On April 18 we placed an order for the above oven. The site stated there was 5 in stock. Our shipment day was to be on the 21st. We received an email stated that the warehouse was out of stock. ( I thought they had 5 on Hand) We were to receive this order on the 25th. When I called their customer service line the recorded message was "we are closed for the holidays" call back later. I called again today the 26. The same recorded message. I feel this is not a reliable vendor and would NEVER use them again.
9/08/2011 - A customer service person at Sharp finally did the right thing. They said that it was odd that no one offered me a new oven and that I didn't have a record or complaint # for all the phone calls. They sent me a new oven for a small fraction of the original price, and free shipping to send the defective one back. I am hopeful that this oven, dated manufactured in 2010 rather than the original one of 2008, will work well for many years. It was just, all along, a matter of finding the right person at the Sharp Corporation to take care of this problem. So, if you have any problems, KEEP CALLING. It worked for me.
Knave had this for about a year and like it so far. We have not experimented too much with the convection - just a few things that we would not have been upset about if it did not come out perfectly. It looks great and bakes thin crust pizzas perfectly!
I needed to replace my older Sharp Microwave/Convection oven that had stopped microwaving after 8+ years and looked and compared all other brands and models both online and in the big retail stores. Many don't display the Sharp brand, and I really like to physically see an item before I purchase it. I had been very satisfied with my 2 previous Sharp microwaves that gave me many years of repair-free service and I also like the push-button feature. I finally found the exact newer replacement of my model on display at speciality appliance store in my area. Got a good price from the store but of course got a better price from Amazon, I received it in 3 days and it fit exactly where the old one was and my husband with my daughter's help installed it.
much less expensive than other name brands that do exactly the same functions. We've had this for a few months, has worked like a champ, and I still haven't used it to it's full potential. The oven is a bit small, but since we seldom use it for baking, that's not a problem for us. The sensor defrost function is awesome, defrosts food very evenly
The unit I received was obviously a return unit that had been opened. There was a good dent in the bottom where it had been dropped and the paint was chipped. But it was such a pain to repack and reship such a large unit and the dent was on the bottom, I decided to try it out first. The oven was not damaged internally apparently. I also purchased the extended warranty and figure they can come out an fix it if it does not work. I have written Amazon asking that they just provide the metal panel that was dented for replacement, but have heard nothing so far. If the packing and shipping issue had not been there, I would have given the oven itself 5 stars.
This is an excellent convection microwave combo. Perfect for use instead of a conventional oven for a small family or for those times that a second oven is needed & as a microwave, too. The installation instructions were almost nonexistent but once installed it's been great! So many features, such as Sensor Heating & Sensor Cooking in the microwave mode. The convection oven has both preprogrammed times & temps with "compu" settings or you can enter your own. I would definitely recommend this oven.
Some of the changes to the new microwave, seem to be an improvement on the old one. The touch panel is designed better, as well as the door. The door in my old microwave was developing cracks. I felt that it must be a pretty good design, being that it virtually had not changed that much in 10 years. The changes that were made, seem to be for the better.

My old microwave was on the counter, and now I have so much more counter space. That's the part I love most of all.
